Basic hourly gross pay
For one hourly rate with no overtime split, multiply decimal work hours by the hourly rate. Keep the underlying time precise, then round currency at the end.
Example: 37.5 hours × $22 per hour = $825.00 gross pay.
Add an overtime estimate
First split regular and overtime hours using the threshold you selected. Calculate each pay component, then add them.
Example: 45 hours at $20, using a 40-hour threshold and 1.5× multiplier, gives 40 × $20 = $800 plus 5 × $20 × 1.5 = $150. Estimated gross pay is $950.00.
Gross pay is not take-home pay
Gross pay is earnings before taxes and deductions. Net or take-home pay is what remains after applicable withholding and deductions. WorkHourKit does not calculate taxes, benefits, reimbursements, bonuses, tip credits, salary conversions, or payroll-specific adjustments.
Currency selection changes the displayed currency unit; it does not perform an exchange-rate conversion. For payroll or financial decisions, compare the estimate with the official pay statement and the rules that apply to the work.
Check the inputs before trusting the total
- Convert minutes correctly: 30 minutes is 0.50 hours.
- Confirm whether breaks are already excluded.
- Use the rate and currency for the same job or period.
- Confirm whether an overtime threshold and multiplier apply.
- Keep gross and net pay in separate fields.
