THE METHOD

Add up a seven-day working week

Choose the first date of your timesheet period, then add the shifts from your rota. Dates are displayed day-first. Enter actual breaks for each shift; new entries start at zero break minutes. A night shift is assigned to its start day, even when it finishes the following morning. Blank days add no hours.

The formulaWeekly paid hours = sum of each shift’s paid minutes over seven start days ÷ 60.

A worked example

For an example 37.5-hour rota, five 09:00–17:00 shifts with 30 unpaid minutes each give 450 minutes a day. Five × 450 = 2,250 minutes, or 37 hours 30 minutes. This is an example schedule, not a required working week.

We calculate clock time, not elapsed time across daylight-saving changes. Pay estimates exclude taxes and deductions. Read the full methodology →

GOOD TO KNOW

Common questions

How should I record a split shift?

Add a separate entry for each working interval on the same day, for example 09:00–12:00 and 13:00–17:00. Do not also deduct the gap as a lunch break: it is already outside both entries. Overlapping shifts are rejected.

Can this estimate weekly pay?

Yes. Expand Pay estimate and enter your hourly rate; GBP is the initial currency. Enable overtime only if you need a chosen threshold and multiplier. This does not establish contractual overtime eligibility, a statutory premium or take-home pay.

Where is my timesheet saved?

Save on this device stores one draft for this UK calculator in your browser. Load saved restores it; the US calculator has a separate draft. The CSV includes shift entries and totals, so review it before sharing.
