THE METHOD
How your result is calculated
Do not treat minutes as hundredths of an hour. Add exact minutes first and round the final displayed total, rather than rounding every short shift before adding them.
A worked example
135 minutes ÷ 60 = 2.25 hours. 20 minutes ÷ 60 = 0.3333… hours, displayed as 0.33.
We calculate clock time, not elapsed time across daylight-saving changes. Pay estimates exclude taxes and deductions. Read the full methodology →
GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
Can I convert more than a day?
Yes. This is a duration converter, so 1,500 minutes becomes 25.00 hours.
Does the display lose precision?
The two-place display is rounded. Shared shift and pay calculations use the underlying minute totals, not that rounded display.
